Whether your employees are facing redundancy, feeling stuck, or simply ready for a new challenge, career transitions can feel daunting – and how you support people through them says a lot about you as an employer.
That’s where Mahler Marrow Consulting comes in. Drawing on 30 years of HR and people experience, we offer honest, practical and personalised coaching to help individuals identify what they truly want from their career and create a clear plan to get there. We work with organisations of all sizes to provide outplacement support that helps departing employees move forward with confidence and dignity. We also work directly with individuals who are navigating their own career journey.
We’ll always start by listening – understanding the situation, the people involved, and what a successful outcome looks like for everyone.
There are multiple benefits to both organisations and individual employees:
For Organisations:
For Individuals:
A coaching relationship always starts with a ‘chemistry’ call. Coaching isn’t for everyone and both coach and coaches need to be able to work together. Appropriate duration, frequency, goals and ways of working would be agreed and ‘contracted’. Sometimes a third-party sponsor from the organisation is involved at this stage. If you would like to arrange a 30-minute discovery call, with no obligation and in complete confidence, please get in touch.
Before any coaching programme can start, a free, no-obligation ‘chemistry’ call will be organised between the coach and the prospective client to determine whether they are a good professional fit, explore goals and agree expectations before any commitment is made.
Whether this is coaching or outplacement, the duration and number of coaching sessions would be agreed in stage 1. A typical programme is 6 2-hour coaching sessions (outplacement may be shorter), run over several months. These are often carried out via Teams but may be face-to-face depending on practical considerations.
Middle-manager in the private sector struggling with a challenging working relationship with her manager and getting negative feedback for not delivering to deadlines.
Through coaching, the client identified that she was getting unnecessarily distracted by requests from colleagues and the drive to please people was so strong, that she dropped what she was doing to respond immediately. This led to her missing deadlines which in turn led to the poor feedback and difficult relationships. Working with the coach, she identified different tools and techniques to help her prioritise and feel more confident to push back and delegate as well as increasing her confidence to communicate across the organisation and manage expectations.
Of coaching with Sarah she said “The coaching sessions have truly made a positive impact on both my professional and personal life, and I’m deeply grateful for your kindness, patience, and guidance throughout this journey.”
It is a privilege to have worked with so many leaders in businesses and charities, as well as their talented people. It’s also wonderful to hear their feedback.
Sarah worked with me as my Career Coach in a period when I was reconsidering the future of my employment. Sarah is a great listener and gives an appropriate amount of challenge to help me reflect and achieve some clarity of which direction I needed to take. Sarah is empathetic to different situations and has a great understanding of business, enabling the individual to reach considered actions and outcomes.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for your help and support over the last few months. My mind has been whizzing at a million miles an hour but after speaking to you I’ve always found clarity and and had a list of things to look at or consider. Thank you for being a calm and listening ear as well as offer expertise and encouragement when needed!
Sarah was my Executive Coach during my career change from a high-street bank. I've felt lucky to have Sarah on my team because she offered me the space to reflect, regroup and gain further insight into what my next best move could be. She's a wonderful listener with outstanding strategic insight and depth of knowledge. Highly recommended.
As I faced redundancy in the summer of 2023 , I was fortunate enough to engage with Sarah. She provided expert and tailored coaching that fully took into account my experience and future ambitions. Sarah challenged me in the right way, encouraging me to go for the 'right role’, using her infectious positivity in our regular sessions. I have no doubt that Sarah played a large part in me obtaining my new role and I have no hesitation in recommending to anyone who needs her skills.
